BBI Solutions is a leading expert in immunoassay development and manufacturing services, and provides an extensive portfolio of products and technologies to the global diagnostic and pharmaceutical markets.
As a business, we are currently progressing through a substantial period of growth, and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician to join our Scientific Production team. This role will initially be based from our Llanishen site, but will move to our brand new Global Centre of Excellence in Crumlin, before the end of the year.
The Role
As the Production Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation and assembly of rapid tests within the laboratory. Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Manufacture and assembly of Rapid Tests, components and other diagnostic products.
  • Ensure batch record completion is up to date and accurate.
  • Service, calibration and operation of key production equipment associated with the manufacture of Rapid Tests and Components.
  • Compliance with BBI’s quality system requirements, including completing non-conformances and CAPAs and change requests for all SOPs, EOPs, SMPs and relevant documents where necessary.
  • Completion of daily cleaning checks.
  • Responsible for maintaining individual training record.
  • Adherence to all SOPs, EOPs, SMPs, Health & Saftey regulations and relevant documents.
  • Labelling, reconciliation, packing and finishing of Rapid Test components.
  • Meet production targets to include quality checks of all finished products.
  • Participation in Validation activities and equipment / process failure investigations / troubleshooting as required.
The Person
As the Production Technician, you will be a strong team player, with a positive attitude and good customer service skills.
It is paramount that you have a general scientific background with either a degree qualification or prior laboratory experience as a requirement. The appropriate standard of numeracy, literacy and communication skills are also required.
You will also need skills in the following areas:
